Joseph Yznaga Regan painted this wall mural of Carlos Manuel de Céspedes at the Instituto de San Carlos in Key West, Florida in 1975. It represents the declaration of the Freedom Movement in Cuba in 1868 with El Grito de Yara (the Battle of Yara). The San Carlos Institute commissioned Joseph to return in 2015 - 40 years later!- to repair and restore the painting to it’s original grandeur.
